Annie is 82 and she is just getting started.

When asked about exercise, she says: “I wake up and think, what are we going to do today?” and giggles. She is curious, genuinely interested in what her body is capable of.

At her home gym, Annie works with a personal trainer for an hour. She loves trying new exercises and pushing her limits. Currently, she is preparing to defend her Guinness World Record title – for the 8th year.

Annie Judis did not spend her adolescense skipping rope. She started training at 75 years old. No plan. No record in mind. She simply wanted to see if she could do it. So she tried, and her body responded well.

Most people believe the window closes. That at a certain age the best you can do is maintain, or slowly decline. But that is not true. Older adults can still build strength and improve cardiovascular health. The research is unequivocal. Annie is proof.

But proof is not what inspires people to exercise. Belief is. The barrier is not age, it is the story we tell ourselves about what is possible. Annie could have decided she was too old, too fragile, too late.

Instead, she picked up a jump rope.

Whether you’re 45 or 75, you can absolutely become a fitter version of your current self. The question isn’t whether you should start. It’s whether you’re willing to be your own advocate, and try.  ♥ 𝙘𝙤𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙡
