I’m in Bangkok again. This city has become my base. It’s a good hub for other countries, whether I’m flying or taking the train. I also go to Bangkok when I haven’t decided where I’m going next. It’s a great city for inspiration.
Here are the highlights from this week.
LIVE BANDS. Three cowboys, one violin, and the proper amount of denim. This is how I know life is meant to be enjoyed.
OUTDOOR GYMS. You don’t need a membership. You don’t need lululemon pants. You need a tank top and balls – I’ve never seen a woman. Next time, I’m gonna roll up in pink tank and see if the fellas let me play.
GRAFFITI. It’s an art form; a rebellious, explosion of expression. There’s a story behind it that never gets told. Maybe that explains my fascination. I’ve always loved it.
PARKS. Bangkok is grimy, but the grass is greener on the other side. Parks (yes, they exist) are the best place for people watching. I saw punk rockers!
ALTERATIONS. You don’t know convenience until you have two seamstresses parked in front of 7-11 ready to alter your garments. My bill was $1.50.
WATERMELON RINDS. Thailand still has the fruit game on lock. I still eat enough for three people.
