The 21-day fitness challenge is over. I am proud of what you accomplished. You certainly made an impression on me.

You were entertaining.

“Dear Angel, the Skinny By Friday team needs to come up with another word to describe you beyond INSANE!”

“I’mma try to meditate after I meditate these dishes clean.”

“I almost turned into kale.”

“Oh lawd, I can only get through 1 round. Code 10.”

“I need a massage.”

You were honest.

“I’m going to have to do the extra credit tomorrow… The pb & j that I brought to work for my lunch was consumed at 930 am. Yes, I am a mess and I know it.”

“Ahem, my continued goal is to not eat past 8pm this whole week. My success rate for this was 50/50 last week – I get up early and start the day great, then I get knee deep in work, go home, get distracted and don’t start roasting cauliflower until 8pm. Tisk tisk. The kitchen is freaking CLOSED PEARL.”

“Got off the train a bit and caught up to Day 12. There was birthday cake.”

“Having this challenge be at such a stressful time in my life has been awesome. I’m dealing with the madness in ways that are much healthier than I otherwise would have dealt with it.”

“My downfalls are sweets and fast food. I work in a pretty close knit office, so if one person is craving sweets, they usually bring treats to share with everyone. If I see other people eating sweets, something in my mind tells me that it’s ok for me to eat some, too. Unfortunately, once I start eating sweets I have a hard time stopping.”

You were motivated.

“I did my mile in 9:58 this week. I’ve never run for speed before. This is fun!”

“I can’t sit down. I hurt everywhere, but I will get better!!!”

“I have short little legs (and old knees!) that don’t let me run faster than 5MPH on the treadmill, but I’m working on it!”

“With each assignment I complete, I feel excited and eager to see how much stronger I can get.”

You deserve a hug. The kind where your legs are swinging in the air.

You are all winners but I can only give prizes to a few. The winners of the challenge are: Carrie, Darlene, Elena, Nomi. You get the choice of new workout gear or a fitness consulting session with me. I will email you directly with details. Congratulations!

[Note: I wanted to give prizes to everyone but Oprah wouldn’t return my phone calls. The restraining order has expired. I don’t know why she still acting funny.]

The next challenge is in September. Until then, I will be posting fun, useful information here at least once a week. Don’t be a stranger. After what I put you through, it’s official. We family now.

Got feedback about the challenge? I’d love to hear it.

What a great surprise! Thank you so much for the challenge Angel! It was a good reminder that the less chocolate and junk I eat, the less I crave it. I loved the workouts, and the fact that I was able to do 80 regular push ups in one 30-minute workout. Can’t wait for the next one!

Word. See you in a month.

Angel · 08/13/2013 at 10:06 am

@Polly. How can you pay me back? Let me know what you want to see more of on this blog. Be specific. I’ll see in you Egypt.

Angel · 08/13/2013 at 10:05 am

@Elena. Spoiler alert: I am a magical perfect unicorn.

Polly · 08/13/2013 at 9:23 am

Shhhh – I’m pretending like the challenge is still continuing and carrying on with my goals and the clean eating and daily tasks. (Sometimes denial IS a river in Egypt.) Thanks, Angel, for providing these tools for free. Let us know if/how we can pay you back!

Elena · 08/13/2013 at 7:51 am

Omg that cow is precious! Thanks for a great challenge Angel, it was super fun! My favorite part was reading everyone’s comments in a rare display of honesty on the Internet and being reminded that there are real people doing the challenge along wih me and not magical perfect workout unicorns.

@Slomo. You were incredible during the challenge. Thanks for calling me a “genius” all the time. It helps. You get the biggest prize…..

Slomo · 08/13/2013 at 6:54 am

@Nomi. 1. I love lists. 2. Braaa ha ha ha (Evil laugh). 3. Awww. That is really sweet. It means so much to hear your feedback. Thank you, Nomi!

Nomi · 08/12/2013 at 10:24 pm

1. Love this.

2. That cow and its perfect teeth scared the crap out of me.

3. It takes a special kind of person to design a challenge that is fun, tough, insightful, motivating and inspiring. You are that person! You have put so much into this challenge/all of us, and you are truly appreciated. Everything about this has been simply amazing. I’ll be all up in the next one.

Darlene · 08/12/2013 at 6:52 pm

This is so cool. Thanks Angel for three weeks of intense workouts and healthy eating motivation. I looked forward to reading your blog every day to see what torture, I mean fun, you had in store for us. I’ll check back for my weekly motivation and in September for the next challenge.
