The last time I wrote about Misty Copeland she was dreaming of becoming the first black principle dancer. She did.

She’s so good.

Inspired by Misty, and your New Year’s resolutions, I’ve compiled ballet workouts to give you that good body. I’ve also included some critically acclaimed dance documentaries. This post is for my dancers, my aspiring dancers, my “I just want to have her body” non-dancers. Enjoy!


Ballet Fitness Videos

Sweat Betty Ballet Bootcamp. A 40 minute full body video.

Lean Legs and Butt Shaper Workout. A 15 minute lower body toning workout that uses ballet inspired movements.

Ballet Strength Workout. A full body 30 minute video for non-dancers and beginners.

Ballerina Legs. A 10 minute lower body routine. This video has great visuals but there is no sound, re: no instructions. Thus, this is not for us common folk.


Ballet Workout Routines

Leg Exercises for Dancers. This pinterest has tons of workouts you can print or save to your phone.

8 Barre-Inspired Moves for Amazing Inner Thighs. This workout includes an explanation of each move and pictures.

The Long & Lean Ballerina workout. This will strengthen legs, abs, and improve posture.

@Nomi. Yeah, these women are incredible. It’s hard to find excuses when I think of all they’ve achieved. I’m sure you don’t need a workout. You are the master tuck jumper. xo

I love this! And I love the pics of Misty Copeland and Michaela DePrince! I read both of the memoirs and was moved by each of their inspiring stories. I have this fantasy that I’m going to meet Misty and we’ll become friends. I think it’s gonna happen this year. Lol.

I miss you and love you so much! And boy, do I ever need this workout 🙂 xoxo
