It’s Day 2 of the 21 Day Fitness Jump Off challenge. Based on your comments, it’s clear that you know what your problems are. Some of you can’t put down the sweets, some of you are flaky, some of you are in an exercise rut. So what are you going to do about it?

I want you to take responsibility for the condition you are in and do better. Today, I want you to pick an action to start doing or stop doing. Here are some examples:

1. Today, I’m going to drink 70 oz of water.
2. Today, I’m not going eat any sweets unless they taste like Martha Stewart made them in her french bakery and I really want them. (Many of us eat because we’re bored or simply because it’s in front of us. Stop that.)
3. Today, I’m going to exercise no matter how late I get home for work or how sluggish I feel because I know I always feel better when I’m done plus if I don’t exercise today, Angel’s workout assignments will leave me cripple and walking like “whoa”.

What are you going to do today?

Day 2’s main assignment will be posted this afternoon. This post is extra credit – of the mandatory kind.

@pamela. Glad you are feeling awesome!!! We are a team here. Always reach out if you ever feel unmotivated. I’m not going to let you fall.

Pamela · 12/13/2012 at 2:19 pm

This is awesome!!!

I want it! I was feeling sluggish this morning. But thought..I’m going to get my 2 mile jog in. Don’t care if I’m late for work, it has to get done. Glad I did it!

I’m going for it.

Crystal · 12/13/2012 at 11:37 am

#1 and #3, check! (And although I ate something unhealthy for dinner, it was well within a healthy calorie range for the day and my day involved no sweets!)

Angel · 12/12/2012 at 2:04 pm

@Jessie. OMG, that is my biggest problem. I never sit down to eat! I’m always standing up in the kitchen, or eating on my way somewhere. I’ve got to work on that. Look at you inspiring me. 😉

Angel · 12/12/2012 at 2:03 pm

@Leah, Drink, girl, drink. Water also keeps that hair moisturized!

Leah · 12/11/2012 at 10:56 pm

I was late also!!! Starting off on the wrong foot. I will increase my water intake tomorrow. Have to take baby steps because I don’t even drink 1 glass a day. (hanging my head in shame)

Jessie · 12/11/2012 at 9:36 pm

Today I put more effort into my meals. I took time preparing them, put them on a puurddy plate, and made a point of sitting down to eat. I reminded myself to eat slowly–enjoying every bite but also being aware of when I was getting full.

Crystal · 12/11/2012 at 7:07 pm

I saw this a bit too late to commit, so I am taking on #1 and #3 for tomorrow (on top of anything else you throw at us).

Sara K · 12/11/2012 at 4:29 pm

Today I got up and did 40 minutes of cardio even though when I woke up at 5:30 a.m. I felt like poo and really just wanted to stay in bed. If I don’t get up and do it before work, it ain’t happening. Also, I will not have any adult beverages tonight – not even one glass of wine, just water with ice.

Angel · 12/11/2012 at 2:05 pm

@Mairead, Anger is a powerful motivator. Swing the life out of those kettlebells tonight.

Mairead Sauter · 12/11/2012 at 2:04 pm

Today I will NOT have a glass of wine after putting the baby to bed. I WILL do my 50 push-ups and 100 kettlebell swings even though I am mad I didn’t do them yesterday.

Angel · 12/11/2012 at 1:28 pm

@Angie. So many people fall into this trap. They say, “I eat healthy, I don’t know why I gained wait.”. I, personally, don’t keep almonds in the house because I can’t keep my hand out of the bag. Then 1500 almond calories later, I’m wondering why I’m not America’s Next Top Model. Too much healthy food is still too much food. Thanks for reminding everyone.

Angel · 12/11/2012 at 1:26 pm

@Slomo Knowing is half the battle. We gon’ make it.

Angel · 12/11/2012 at 1:25 pm

@Tommy. Are you in or are you out? Don’t make me come over there.

Cynthia · 12/11/2012 at 1:25 pm

Today, i will drink 8 glasses of water, go shopping and buy lots of yummy veggies!

Eliza · 12/11/2012 at 1:22 pm

I will go to the gym inbetween work and class even though I won’t want to 🙂

Carrie Bean · 12/11/2012 at 12:28 pm

Pomegranate seeds are so yum! Here’s more info, Angel.

Tommy Avent · 12/11/2012 at 12:01 pm

I wanted to eat lunch at FiveGuys….I had a salad instead. I guess that is good. It sure didn’t taste as good lol.

Slomo · 12/11/2012 at 11:27 am

Whoops, I put my last comment on the wrong post, like a grandma tryin to use facebook. Today, I’m going to spin class, no matter how broke I am and how tired I am from work.

Slomo · 12/11/2012 at 11:25 am

I’m with you. I need to get my butt on a bike three times a week, doing at least an hour of consistent hill work each time. My biggest set back is that I don’t like cycling. When I’m in DC, I will hopefully be attending Angel Stone’s spin classes…SOON!!!!!! I also need to lose about 8 lbs. Portion control portion control portion control, and water water water!!!!!!

fvr · 12/11/2012 at 11:02 am

Today I will not eat any sweets or anything fried.

Angie · 12/11/2012 at 10:53 am

Portion control. A lot of times I’ll make decent food choices, but then I’ll eat enough to nourish a 250 lb man. Wuh wuh.

Heidi · 12/11/2012 at 10:41 am

I already PR’ed my front squat today! I’m going to avoid eating crackers and cheese like the plague! Having my homemade paleo chicken soup for lunch today instead. And not drinking at all tonight!

Angel · 12/11/2012 at 10:20 am

@Amy. True, crosstraining means EVERYTHING. Yay, Amy!

Angel · 12/11/2012 at 10:20 am

@Jessica. Go girl! Ya’ll are making me so proud already.

Angel · 12/11/2012 at 10:20 am

@deanne. Get it, mama.

Angel · 12/11/2012 at 10:20 am

@CarrieBean, Pomegranate seeds? I’ve never tried that. Thanks for the idea. And yes, work that holiday party dress. Kill them!

Amy · 12/11/2012 at 10:01 am

I will do yoga today so I will have better long runs! Learned a hard lesson after a half, I have to crosstrain to feel great after 13 miles.

Jessica · 12/11/2012 at 9:48 am

I will log my calories and exercise no matter how busy I am, and I will drink my chia seeds every day!

Carrie Bean · 12/11/2012 at 9:47 am

I will resist treats at work and home. Dessert, if needed, will be cutting up my pomegranate and munching on those yummy seeds. And ugh I was gonna take an off day, but you’ve inspired me to do at least something. The dress for my company holiday party this weekend wouldn’t mind me tending to abs and legs today 🙂

Deanne · 12/11/2012 at 9:35 am

I will not eat sweets today (of any kind), no matter how tempting all the freshly made cookies are sitting in various spots throughout my office building. I will also workout tonight after work.
