Day 1: Set A Personal Goal

fit+hungry+angelstone+goals

Day 1: It’s Monday, July 15th. Today’s assignment is to set a personal goal for the week. Don’t pick something easy. Choose a goal that you’ll be most proud to accomplish.

Examples:
“I will not eat after dinner.”
“I will do yoga 3x this week.”
“I will run 5 miles.”
“I will get 7 hours of sleep each night.”
“I won’t get drunk.”
“I will not yell at my children.”
“I will not gossip.”
“I will eat a healthy breakfast.”

A “week” is Monday to Sunday. Thus, you have until Sunday evening, July 21st to complete your goal.

We’re starting easy. I expect 100% success. What is your goal? Respond below.

Courtney · 07/17/2013 at 10:05 am

I’m late to joining, but am going to use heavier weights in body rides this week.

Michelle N. · 07/17/2013 at 9:42 am

My goal for this week is to take time to eat breakfast… I’ve been neglecting that meal terribly the past month or so.

Heidi R · 07/17/2013 at 9:23 am

Ok, I’m late! shocker! And Monday and Tuesday I screwed up, so this week’s goal is dietary! No dairy and no candy! Good riddance!

Angel · 07/16/2013 at 10:29 pm

@Deanne. Sleep is one of my goals, too!

Angel · 07/16/2013 at 10:28 pm

@Tiffany. You got this. Thanks for joining the challenge.

Deanne · 07/16/2013 at 9:30 pm

My goal this week is to drink more water and get in my 8 glasses per day. I’m not going to lie…I stole that from Victoria but it was a good one. My secret goal is to go to bed by 10pm every night. My super secret goal (and this might be lofty of a goal) is to complete all of the challenges this week…not that I have been putting that off but if I post it here then I have to do it :).

Tiffany · 07/16/2013 at 9:12 pm

My goal is to do 20 minutes of cardio for 3-5 days a week.

Angel · 07/16/2013 at 8:25 pm

@Monica. It’s good that you are motivated but just know that goal adherence is easier the fewer things you change at one time. I support you. I just don’t want you to fizzle. Those are a lot of big goals all at once.

Monica · 07/16/2013 at 7:57 pm

My goals are to run 2xs a week, cut out alcohol for 30 days, eat a clean diet, and incorporate weightlifting into my workout routine

Angel · 07/16/2013 at 7:50 pm

@Beckie. Great goal. I like it when people pay attention to the little things that can make big differences. Welcome, Beckie!

Angel · 07/16/2013 at 7:46 pm

@Danielle. Pump that iron, girl. Pump it! Happy to see you’re here.

beckie · 07/16/2013 at 7:43 pm

I will add two new exercises to my resistance workout and I WILL wake up on time to FINISH my weekend runs by 9 a.m. No more cutting long runs short because I started too late and let it get hot!

Danielle · 07/16/2013 at 6:00 pm

I will lift weights 3 times this week. I’m the cardio queen thanks to marathon and tri training but I need to get better with weights!

Angel · 07/16/2013 at 4:02 pm

@Carrie. I’m pleased with that goal.

Carrie · 07/16/2013 at 2:38 pm

Maybe I’m not being ambitious enough, but my goal is to do what you tell me this week!

Polly · 07/16/2013 at 10:40 am

ohmygoshididit. I got my butt out of bed at 5:30 this morning to run. I’m rather certain that’s a first for me.

Nancy · 07/16/2013 at 10:21 am

I will attend Thursday morning boot camp and arrive on time! I will swim at least two times this week.

Tasha · 07/16/2013 at 10:12 am

I will do EVERY workout scheduled in my marathon training plan this week (I’m terrible at treating cross-training days as rest days).

Angel · 07/16/2013 at 9:57 am

@Jessie. I’m all about exclamation marks! No to gossip! Yes to good meals and snacks! Right on.

Angel · 07/16/2013 at 9:57 am

@Tommy. Wow! Great and challenging goals. That’s what I like to see.

Angel · 07/16/2013 at 9:56 am

@Victoria. Ah, yes, gossip. The hardest part will be creatively and politely letting people know that you don’t want to engage in it. I’ve found some good strategies that I’d love to share with you.

Angel · 07/16/2013 at 9:54 am

@Amy. Solid goals. You’re gonna feel amazing at the end of the week!

Angel · 07/16/2013 at 9:53 am

Angel · 07/15/2013 at 10:08 pm

@Darlene. Did you hit your goal? If not, why not try for 5000 or 5500. It will still be more than your average. Glad you’re here!

Angel · 07/15/2013 at 10:08 pm
